Arc of the Sun (Arc) is an innovative progressive metal/pop punk band hailing from College Park, Maryland. Having all played countless shows in the DMV punk and hardcore scenes respectively with their own bands, the members of Arc decided to unite their collective experiences and success to create something completely unique. Having released their debut album Everything Under, Arc has set its sites to scheduling some great shows in and around the DMV area, while also working to complete 3 separate EPs to be released late 2015, early 2016. An East Coast tour is also in the works for Summer 2016 so make sure to stay up to date for special promotions and giveaways for both the album and tour!
Meet the Band
Arc of the Sun was founded by Jonah Amster, who composed, recorded, and produced nearly the entire album on his own. From 2014-2015, four new band members were added to make Arc what it is today.

As the year draws to a close and the holidays send us into nostalgia and reflection one questions begs to be answered: What Were The Top 5 Albums of 2015? Juggernaut: Alpha & Omega – Periphery A double album that landed on many Top of 2015 lists, Periphery really took things to the next level[…]
We’re midway through December now, and I haven’t really spoken much about my musical tastes on here. So, to fix that, here are my top 5 favorite releases of 2015, in no particular order! Intervals – The Shape Of Color This album snuck in at the end of the year, and it immediately[…]
Hey all! Jonah here. People were asking about the chords/voicing that we used on the song Save Data, so I went ahead and made a playthrough video so you can see for yourself! Enjoy!
I’ve been following Alex Rüdinger for at least a year now, and I was really excited to hear he was involved with a new band called Good Tiger. I wasn’t sure how I felt about this track when I first heard it. It’s unique, and it took me a while to get used to it, but this[…]
A few weekends ago, I had the pleasure of traveling to Bard College, the alma mater of our fearless leader, Jonah. Once we crossed over the Hudson river and into the beautiful campus, which can only be described as seemingly the best place in America to settle down and start a family, Jonah took us[…]
For the recording process of On Hudson, we decided as a band that we wanted to record the best sounding instruments available. In terms of high end acoustic guitars, two of the most common names you’ll hear are Martin and Taylor. These two manufacturers produce top of the line, beautiful sounding instruments, while also exhibiting unique[…]
Archetypes! This past weekend was incredibly hectic for Arc Of The Sun. In two separate cars we all (minus Kam :< ) drove up to New York and hopped into the studio to record some acoustic tracks! I won’t spoil much, other than everyone worked incredibly hard and did everything they could to make[…]
I have a Fractal Audio Axe-Fx II, and I absolutely love it. I recorded all of the guitars for “Everything Under” with it plugged directly into my DAW and was able to capture some fantastic tones that sound dynamically real. When I originally purchased the Axe-Fx, I had intended to use it for both my[…]
